Level & Co. is a secondary market gallery that specializes in Post-War and Contemporary art from abstract expressionism to neo-expressionism to 21st century masters.
We place blue chip artworks with private and institutional collections and work closely with advisors, galleries, and other trusted intermediaries.
Level and Co, located at 30 East 74th Street on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, is open by appointment. Our private space provides clients the highest levels of discretion and confidentiality for exclusive curated viewings.
THE TEAM
EVAN BEARD
President, Level & Co
For the past decade, Evan has worked at the cross section of art and finance. Prior to launching Level & Co, Evan launched and led the Art Services Division at Bank of America, where he oversaw a $10 billion art-secured lending business, collector advisory, and philanthropic & museum services.
Prior to this, he was a strategy manager at Deloitte Consulting, where he worked with hedge funds, private banks, art-secured lending firms and private clients.
Previously, Evan served as a U.S. Naval Intelligence Officer in Washington, D.C. and the Middle East. He earned his undergraduate degree in Economics from the U.S. Naval Academy, a Master’s degree in the Classics from St. John’s College in Annapolis, Maryland, and a Master’s degree from the University of Oxford, United Kingdom.
He has been an advisory board member of TEFAF Art Fairs and has appeared in documentaries such as 'The Lost Leonardo' (2021) as well as CNBC, The New York Times, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal and many others.
LAURA MILLER
Director, Level & Co
Laura Miller joins Level & Co. as a Director with in-depth experience buying, selling, and advising clients on works of Post-War and Contemporary art. Most recently at Opera Gallery for 5 years, she managed the gallery’s New York branch on Madison Avenue where she advised collectors, curated exhibitions, and focused on both primary and secondary market sales. She has organized exhibitions featuring artists such as Adjei Tawiah, Manolo Valdés, Georges Mathieu, Chu Teh-Chun, Ron Arad, and Pierre Soulages, among others.
Prior to Opera Gallery, Laura spent three years at Christie’s New York, where she managed auction activities, oversaw collections during marquee sales, and helped produce auction catalogues by contributing research and written content.
Originally from New Orleans, Laura earned a Bachelor of Arts from Texas Christian University in Fort Worth, Texas, before earning a Master’s degree from Université de Rennes in Bretagne, France.
HANNAH POSS
Private Sales Associate, Level & Co
Hannah Poss joins Level & Co. from Sotheby's New York, where she was in the 20th Century Design department. There she handled pre-sale coordination for the department's various-owner sales, Single Owner collections, and private sales. She has previous experience at Christie’s in the Post-Sales department, as well as at the Whitney Museum of Art in New York.
A native of New York City, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art History and History from Emory University in Atlanta, GA.
